We at The Black Fox are fully aware on the financial pressures heaped upon our customers by the rising prices of energy, foodstuffs, mortgages, et al.
The government, in their wisdom, have decided that everyone will be delighted to pay some more in duty for beer, wines and spirits to "curb binge drinking".
Perceived wisdom, therefore, is that we, in conjunction with the rest of the hospitality industry will increase our prices to accommodate the tax hike. Most establishments will. Not necessarily because they want to make as much profit as they can; leaseholders and tenants are under huge pressure of hefty rents, tied prices from their landlords designated suppliers and, as such, they probably have no choice.
The Black Fox is a freehold / freehouse, however, and we propose to take a different course of action. Following on re-negotiations with my suppliers, I am pleased to announce that from the 29th April 2008 all beer prices are radically cut.
Not for a week or a month, but permanently. My suppliers have significantly reduced prices to me and I consider it right that we all benefit.
